it is over, the house is ours
Finally it is over.
We signed and initialed a stack of papers about an inch high. There was so much that they gave us a thumb drive with the paper copies on it. That is a LOT of pages.
I had to prove that I had the cash for the down payment. That was easy.
Then I had to prove that I had had the money for a while. I went back a year, but that month I deposited another check and that made it “dirty” so we kept looking.
Along the way they want to see a copy of the original building permit for the addition to the house. If the Mortgage Broker calls, they will say he needs to talk to Mike. Mike does not answer his phone, so Mortgage Broker left a message and Mike does not call back. But I went over and asked face to face and I had the paper in 5 or 20 minutes.
When I came back to the Broker, they offered me a full time job!
But finally the i’s are dotted the t’s are crossed and the money is in the right place and the receiver has acknowledged that that part is all done.
So today I unloaded a trailer full of boxes of stuff. Shar’s stuff.We will get to my stuff later.
We may well take a month to get moved. I have to finish details on her house and get it on the market. Then I have to get my house ready to rent. All of this before I can begin building a shop at the new place.
By then it will be late summer, but that is OK. There are no deadlines!
